Rattlesnake bite first aid

  • Transport your pet to a veterinarian as quickly as possible, whether it has been vaccinated or not.
  • Keep exercise to a minimum en route to the clinic.
  • Don’t touch or manipulate the area around the bite, or attempt to suck out the venom.
  • Take care that your dog doesn’t bite anyone – snake bites are really painful and even mild-mannered dogs may be motivated to bite.
